At Anstruther Golf Club we understand that kids are the future of the game.
We also realise that golf can help develop youngsters in many aspects.
So, what is the benefit of playing golf and what’s the benefits of playing golf at Anstruther?
It gets the kids out in the fresh air, it’s a game for all the family, it installs good values, it develops sociable skills, it’s a safe and positive environment, anyone can play, and most importantly it’s fun.
As of 1st November 2023 we have 100 Junior members within the club aged between 7 and 17 years old.
During the Summer Season they have monthly medals which are seperated into 5 hole, 9 hole and 18 hole divisons with not only the monthly prizes up for grabs but each section has an overall points winner spot to aim for too. Added to that is a Summer Eclectic for the 18 hole division.
It all works toward our Junior Championship Day where 4 trophies are played for:
- Shelley Cup for the Boys Junior Championship
- Marsfield Cup for the Girls Junior Championship
- Billowness Cup is for the 9 hole Championship
- Wylie Junior Cup is the 5 hole Championship
Each year there is an Easter and Summer golf camp for beginners followed by another for those who are keen to learn more about the game, for these camps we work alongside the Pros from Elie and Crail to deliver a high quality coaching experience.
Weekly term time "Fun Fridays" add regular coaching blended into games to help our Juniors be the best they can be.
At the beginning of each November the Juniors take over The Clubhouse for their very own Prizegiving Evening which is always sold out with family and friends eager to celebrate all the kids successes.
