Welcome to Anstruther Golf Club, home of The Rockies hole which was voted the toughest par 3 in the UK by Todays Golfer in September 2007 Click here to see the article in full...
More recently Pro Golfer Andrew "Beef" Johnston could only make bogey on the hole while playing it as part of a European Tour film he was making along with Andrew Cotter (who could only make a double bogey)

Iona Stephen (Sky Sports Golf & GolfTV) has interviewed Phil Anderson who was the last person to get a hole in one on the 5th. You can find out whats needed to ace The Rockies here.
You can also read the thoughts of Golf.coms Executive Editor, Alan Bastable from the USA, here. This was during his visit to the area for the 150th Open Championship in St Andrews.
Our philosophy is that we treat all of our guests as members and a truly warm ‘Enster’ welcome awaits all visiting golfers. This was reflected in 2019 when we made the final 4 shortlisted clubs for "Best Scottish 9 hole club" at the Scottish Golf Awards which is voted for solely by the general public.
In March 2023 we were voted joint runner up by the East Fife Sports Council in the "Club Development Award" which was down to the hard work of our dedicated team who run not only the Junior section but who have also taken golf to the local schools to promote the club and the sport.
The course is located 9 miles south of St Andrews and stretches along the shoreline between Anstruther & Pittenweem. The spectacular views over Anstruther Harbour and out to the Isle of May, Bass rock & south west to Edinburgh are a constant distraction. Golfers should beware of Anstruther Golf Clubs version of Amen corner which comprises a trio of challenging par 3’s which includes The Rockies.
